Virbac Dog Senior Neutered Small & Toy 3kg

HPM

Complete food for neutered/spayed or overweight-prone senior dogs over 10 years of age of small breeds (< 10 kg) and over 12 years of age of miniature breeds (< 5 kg).

As dogs age, oxidative processes in the body intensify, which means that it is important to safeguard their vital functions in time. Neutered and spayed dogs are prone to weight gain, and a reduced activity level may also predispose them to muscle loss and joint stiffness.

Weight management
The food’s moderate energy density and appropriately adjusted feeding portions help prevent weight gain caused by neutering, spaying, or reduced activity. It is low in carbohydrates and high in protein, which helps maintain ideal body weight. The high fibre content promotes satiety, while added L-carnitine supports fat metabolism and limits fat tissue accumulation.

Moderate calorie content
The food contains less fat and more fibre, which helps reduce energy density and calorie intake.

Tartar control
Added pentasodium triphosphate helps reduce tartar formation and supports oral and dental health.

Low glycaemic index
The low starch content helps maintain stable blood glucose levels.

Urinary tract health
The high level of animal protein helps increase water intake and urine volume, while stabilising urinary pH, thereby supporting urinary tract health.

Supports kidney function
The food’s low phosphorus content and phosphorus-binding chitosan support kidney function.

Supports joints and muscles
The high protein content helps preserve muscle mass, while added chondroitin and chitosan support joint flexibility.

Supports the immune system
The food contains protein that strengthens the immune system and vitamin E, a natural antioxidant.

Strengthens skin and coat
The food contains a high proportion of animal protein, an important source of sulphur-containing amino acids, as well as balanced levels of essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These nutrients support skin and coat health, as well as the formation of the skin’s protective barrier.

Supports digestion
The food’s low starch content supports digestive function. Added soluble and insoluble dietary fibres (prebiotics) and Lactobacillus lactic acid bacteria (probiotics) regulate nutrient transit and maintain a balanced gut microbiota. In addition, bentonite helps protect the gastrointestinal mucosa and normalises stool odour and consistency.
