The Black Horse Fakta series was started in the 1980s by Anneli Lillkvist when it was noticed that the vitamin, mineral and trace element content of hay or concentrates was not always sufficient for the needs of horses. The Fakta series products simply added the ingredients that horses needed to their feed. Anneli developed products that were needed for riding and race horses in order to achieve the best possible and balanced feeding.

Anneli's most significant work tasks have been the design of the Black Horse Horse fakta product series and the writing of the book "Ruokinnalla Tuloksiin". Black Horse Horse fakta feeds were launched in the early 1980s and soon became very popular in the feeding of both trotting and riding horses.

The production of Black Horse Horse fakta feeds was partly transferred to Biofarm in the early 2000s. In 2010, Biofarm purchased the product line and has since updated the product line to meet the needs of modern horses and to fill in the gaps that can arise in individual feeding.
