Black Horse Psyllium husk powder is a plant-based fiber product, the active ingredient is ispaghula husk, from the seeds of the Plantago Ovata plant. Black Horse Psyllium – husk powder swells very strongly, binding 40 times its weight in water. The product is intended to be used as a regimen for horses that eat sand. The regimen can be repeated a few times a year, for example during thawed ground in spring and autumn.
The product is odorless and tasteless. The product can be flavored with molasses, carrot / apple puree, etc.
When using the psyllium product at home, (without the instructions of a veterinarian) the instructions on the package should be followed. Excessive doses can cause, among other things, flatulence and abdominal swelling. If you suspect that your horse has accumulated a lot of sand, contact your veterinarian. Sand can be detected, for example, by X-ray.
If the horse is in pain (diarrhea, abdominal swelling, abdominal examination, etc.) Psyllium should not be given without the instructions of a veterinarian. The product is not intended for the treatment of colic!
Close the lid of the jar carefully after use. Remember to prevent the ingestion of additional sand.
Composition
Isphagula husk (ground) 100%
Directions for use
Mix the powder with water until smooth and add the resulting gel mass to the daily feed ration.
The gel mass formed by psyllium softens and moistens the sand accumulation in the large intestine and carries it away with the feces. The product is used for 5-7 days, after which a break of at least 3 weeks is required or as directed by the veterinarian. The dosage must not be exceeded. The product is intended for use as a regimen. During the regimen, care must be taken to ensure that the horse has clean water available at all times.
