A horse loses electrolytes especially due to sweating during heavy training/competition/transportation and hot weather. The shortage of electrolytes can cause dysfunction with nerve and muscle activity.
Electrolyte helps to recover from dehydration caused by sweating, thus promoting performance and recovery. It also preserves the animal’s desire to drink.
