AIKA Liveron Acute 60 tbl

N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is an
amino acid derivative found in nature. It
forms cysteine that is required in
glutathione synthesis. Glutathione is an
important antioxidant in the body. NAC
supplement can support adequate
cysteine supply in the synthesis. NAC acts
also directly as an antioxidant: it bonds
with reactive oxygen radicals, thus
reducing oxidative stress.
Use of NAC is justified in cases where
oxidative stress is involved, such as acute
liver dysfunctions, acute pancreatitis,
sepsis, or in critically ill dogs.

Advice for veterinarians/dosing:

Acute liver stressing situations/ acute liver
problems: Orally. First dose 140-280 mg
of NAC per kg bodyweight (140 mg/ kg is
the most common initial dose). Then 70
mg per kg bodyweight every 6 hours, at
least 7 times.
