Black Horse

Black Horse GreenBar – alfalfa-hay cube
Black Horse GreenBar contains dried alfalfa and hay. It does not contain any molasses, oils or binding agents. It can be used as a healthy treat, as a reward, or to supplement / upgrade the roughage consumption. The texture is rough; plenty to chew on even when moistened.

GreenBar has good nutritional values: it contains lots of fibers and high-quality proteins, but it is low on sugars and starch.
Alfalfa is not necessarily suitable for all horses; allergic reactions may occur.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
GreenBar can be served dry or moistened. The horse should get accustomed to the cubes gradually. Observe your horse when you start giving GreenBars. If your horse gobbles them, has tooth problems (elderly horses), or has a tendency for esophageal obstruction then GreenBar should be moistened with water. This is also recommended if a larger amount of GreenBars is given. GreenBar dissolves in water quickly.
Larger amounts are recommended to be fed from near ground-level, for example from a food bowl or on top of a hay bale.
Split cubes into small pieces when they are used as a snack.

Dosing recommendation:

  • from few cubes up to 3 kg / day. Dosing depends on amounts and nutritional values of given roughage, on horse's age, condition, and activity level.
  • The size of one cube is abt. 3x3 cm.
  • Always have clean drinking water available.
  • Store in dry, cool place. In absence of binding agents some of the cubes may break in the bag. This chop is also usable, dry, or moistened.
